New Stainless
Swiggle Seal(
TruSeal ) has
cut conductivity by 40% more over standard Swiggle Seal making it
one of the best Warm Edge performers on the market today. Stainless
Swiggle Seal has the lowest conductivity of any Warm Edge insulating
glass sealant system incorporating a solid metal moisture barrier.
Windows made with Swiggle Seal and Stainless Swiggle Seal provide
better condensation resistance and longer lasting insulating glass.
Swiggle
Seal was the first Warm Edge insulating glass sealant system patented
& marketed throughout North America and is still the leader. With
the introduction of Stainless Swiggle Seal window "R" values
are improving again. Swiggle Seal and Stainless Swiggle Seal have
proven thermal performance advantages when tested against silicone
foams, U-Channel metal spacers and dual seal metal spacer systems.
One
of the most important advantages of superior Warm Edge performance
is reduced condensation. Condensation can shorten the life expectancy
of the insulating glass sealant system by allowing damaging water
to collect around the insulating glass edge seal. This water can eventually
destroy the seal between the glass and spacer causing the insulating
glass unit to permanently fog. Swiggle Seal and Stainless Swiggle
Seal reduce heat loss around the glass edges which reduces condensation
and the chance of insulating glass failure.
The
most recognized test method in the world today which measures argon
gas retention is the DIN 1236 part 2. Swiggle Seal is the only single
seal Warm Edge insulating glass sealant system to pass this standard.
Other Warm Edge spacers may claim to retain argon gas but have not
passed this critical standard. Only the warmest windows can claim
proven argon gas retention backed up by the DIN standard and only
Swiggle Seal and Stainless Swiggle Seal can deliver this feature in
a single seal Warm Edge insulating glass sealant system.
Low E is one of the most valuable upgrades on a window and protecting
that investment is very important. Swiggle Seal has been used to seal
units with Low E glass since its commercial use began in residential
windows. Low E coatings can be fragile and moisture sensitive, but
the exceptional moisture resistance of Swiggle Seal prevents unique
formulation is proven compatible with the high performance Low E coatings
available today.
When
all other facators are equal, the contribution of the insulating glass
edge seal to the Energy Rating of a window can be significant. These
ratings measure overall performance of the window based on Solar Heat
Gain, Total Window "U" Value and Air Leakage. The rating
will be positive or negative depending on the amount of energy the
window loses or gains in a specific location. In energy rating simulations,
Stainless Swiggle Seal has outperformed most other Warm Edge insulating
glass sealant systems in identical applications.

Swiggle
Seal combines the optimum amount of desiccant with the most effective
moisture resistant sealant available in a system that is flexible
and easy to apply. Swiggle Seal measuring desiccant, cutting, bending
or welding spacer bar and mixing or hot applying sealants. Swiggle
Seal does all this and more to help ensure quality insulating glass
units every time.
Swiggle
Seal desiccant life has been estimated at more than 50 years. Desiccant
must stay dry during insulating glass unit assembly and moisture must
infiltrate the sealed unit slowly. Swiggle Seal desiccant is preblended
into an extremely moisture resistant sealant with a solid metal barrier.
Dry desiccant, controlled long MOISTURE VAPOR TRANSMISSION PATH, and
a moisture resistant sealant combine to keep your windows Fog Free.
A critical function of the spacer is to control airspace dimensions
following seasonal changes in temperature and pressure. Spacers such
as silicone foam have metal foil moisture barriers but cannot provide
the rigid support necessary for excellent window performance. Other
warm edge systems may fall short of Swiggle Seal in thermal performance
or compromise the moisture barrier, which shortens the path for moisture,
causing units to fail prematurely.

The length
of the Moisture Vapor Path (MVP) combined with resistance to moisture
permeability, are major contributors to the life expectancy of an
IG unit. Only Swiggle Seal is extruded under the sealant manufacturer's
controlled conditions as a complete All-In-One insulating glass edge
system. This provides greater consistency on the Moisture Vapor Path
with Swiggle Seal, because it is a solid polymer extrusion.
Compared to most other insulating glass edge sealants, Swiggle Seal
products have exceptional moisture vapor resistance. Moisture vapor
resistance and the length of the moisture vapor path are two key contributors
to the life expectancy of the insulating glass unit. Swiggle Seal
combines these key contributors for the most effective moisture resistant
sealant.
